Negavatt is a green idea competition and accelerator for young people aged 18 to 30, launched in cooperation between the EIC and the Ministry of the Environment.

The competition is open to ideas for resource-saving products and services or campaigns increasing environmental awareness. From 2014, we have been organising the competition annually in the first half of the year. During this time, young people have submitted over 500 ideas to the competition, which the EIC has supported with almost EUR 250,000.

Negavatt offers young people the opportunity to develop their ideas in a supportive and safe environment. During the competition, the teams will undergo a substantive training and mentoring programme, and the top ten teams will also receive EUR 1,000 in development funding to test their ideas. The grand prize of the competition is EUR 10,000 to turn your idea into reality, with EUR 5,000 awarded for second place, and EUR 3,000 for third place.

Companies such as Calidity, the ‘Take it From the Tap’ campaign, PoKo, Circup, Paranduskelder, Annalutter.KUUT, Clevering, Others, Myceen and RingKarp have all taken off with the help of Negavatt.
