Starting from 4 February, all 18–30-year-olds can submit their ideas to the resource conservation competition of Environmental Investment Centre (EIC) Negavatt in which the best ideas are realised in the amount of up to 10,000. The deadline for submitting ideas is 3 February 2019.

Private persons no longer have to pay income tax on a grant received from the Environmental Investments Centre (EIC) for connecting to the public water supply and sewerage system or installing a holding tank. The amendment to the Income Tax Act recently entered into force, thanks to which individuals who have previously received assistance from the EIC may receive an income tax refund.

On 15 August, the Environmental Investments Centre (EIC) opened the second application round for resource efficiency investments in companies. The purpose of the support is to increase the resource productivity of Estonia’s mining and processing industry undertakings via the adoption of innovative solutions. Support is granted for making investments in resource efficient solutions, including the best possible equipment, resource management systems and IT-applications for supporting those systems.

On Friday, 27 July, the Environmental Investment Centre (EIC) will begin accepting applications for the second application round for the renovation of street lighting infrastructure. Financial support will be allocated from the European Union Cohesion Fund.
