Earth's crust
The Earth's crust programme is part of the Environmental Programme and its objective is to support sparing use of land resources and landscape management, as well as organisation and distribution of earth's crust-related information. grants are applied for and projects implemented in accordance with the Environmental Programme rules and the relevant Regulation of the Minister of the Environment. The amount allocated for grants varies from year to year, because it is directly dependent on the environmental charges received.Landscape rehabilitation:
1) recultivation of abandoned and ownerless quarries – above all, recultivation of quarries characterised by high pollution risk or located in protected areas;
2) development of berry farming in abandoned peat milling areas.
Organisation and distribution of earth's crust-related information:
1) systematization, updating and publishing of geological information;
2) organisation and exposition of geologic nature monuments;
3) organisation and systematization of rock materials collected, improvement of their storage conditions;
4) mineral resources-related research;
5) research of the crust's environmentally harmful components using geochemical and biogeochemical methods;
6) introduction of information associated with geologic research and use of the earth's crust to the general public.
